Memorial day festivities-and a special treat

ahhh the festivities.....i was in Clemson for my baby brother's graduation and......i know u can hardly wait.....but i found fireflies....


memorial day festivities included:

• croquet...that's right...i said croquet cause some people still play such games....i would also like to play a reminiscent game of badmitten soon if anyone has access.....can i just announce that i am the comeback queen of croquet since i won 3/5 games. i only lost the last 2 cause a-it was really dark, b-i was being nice and figured after i had sung several beautiful renditions perfectly on pitch of i am the champion that i should allow someone else to win, doubtful that it was the alcohol kicking in. i'm sure you are all sad that u missed out on my twillight seranading, cause it was truly unforgettable....and since i stole the set from our house....i'm planning a few centennial dates, perhaps percy warner, who's in?
• lots of sun time....i love being outside just sitting and reading or hanging out
• grill out.....mmmm...chicken, steaks, hamburgers....yummy
• perfectly warm weather-while some might disagree with me....i like the 90's....just gotta dress for it and seek out the shade....
• and finally....the fireflies....there i was, concentrating on a much needed shot, when i saw my first firefly of the summer.....oh how i heart them.....now i just need them to be in n'ville and it will all be ok.

-while i would have loved to be on the water....alas.....you gotta make do with what you're given....as i recently told one of my friends (somewhat sarcastically)...."when life gives u lemons, you gotta make lemonade"....to which she replied, "erin, i don't really like lemonade"....a-who doesn't....b-my response: "andrea, then make lemonade and serve it to someone"-either way, you gotta do something with them, so at the end of the day, you won't look around and find all you're left with is just lemons.....personally i have a knack for enjoying the smallest things....so the above list made for a great night.....

Lightning Bugs!

When are they coming back???? It is simply the small things that give me an infinite amount of joy in life (I am so easy to please!)....this being one of them. I can't explain it, but I LOVE lightning bugs. I can sit outside for hours just staring at their tiny glowing butts! I know, I know....it's a mating ritual and a kinda cool one at that....but something about it absolutely fascinates and captivates me. I remember as a child (and last yr for that matter) running around the yard trying to catch them. God is so cool. And He used these little beattles as a sign of confirmation that I should move to N'ville...so there's an added bonus on why I love them so much (if you haven't heard the story, then you've missed out-ask me!).

So my pt is.....When are they coming back? I seriously miss them and I could really use their little lights right now. It would make me oh so happy....and perhaps they can bring back the warm weather that has seemed to disappear so suddenly and recently (maybe this is a chicken and an egg thing, I know, but wishful thinking is always allowed). K, so message to the fireflies: Come out, come out whereever you are! (hope that doesn't remind anyone of a certain very creepy movie, which has, by the way, completely ruined a fun childhood game for me...that I will never again be able to play....my kids will be so deprived!)

I don't think smartass is quite the right word.....

Perhaps my rapid succession blogging will grant me a get out of jail free card for future transgressions....promise this is the last post for quite some time....and i wouldn't want to break that promise, now would i?

The wkend started out with a little half-marathon run through music city! Thanks for playing girls....I'm so proud of all of you. (Amy, Allie, Andrea, me, Stephanie, and Amanda)

There was a little bachelorette party (in true nashvegas style) with the girls....(me and steph)

all friends from high school...the oldest friendship dates back from kdrgtn!

So it occured to me I haven't even posted about Ireland....wow...i'm a slacker....I thought, as a tribute to my crazy life, i would present you with a photo montage of my last 6 wks....now you're caught up....sorry i've been absent....hope you coped!

Our last night together-me and my peanut I took care of for 4 mo. I was crazy insane for her. Now she's been gone for 2 months and is doing incredibly well...I can't believe she's 6 mo. old!
